‘Thanos Rising’ Brings The Infinity War Into Your Very Own Home

Apr 4 2018

Defeat Thanos in his galactic conquest, hopefully without any warping of reality, but that’s up to you and your teammates.

Thanos Rising: Avengers Infinity War is a cooperative dice game set in the Marvel Comics universe. Each player will recruit heroes and battle Thanos’s minions in an attempt to defeat them before Thanos can acquire all the Infinity Stones.

On each player’s turn, they will roll the Infinity Stone die and the Thanos die, which respectively represent Thanos’s increasing influence over the stones and the actions he takes to slow the heroes down. On each of his actions, Thanos takes actions within a certain sector of the map. This is noted by the 120mm figure that sits in the center of the game board.

As Thanos’s minions spread across the map, it is up to the heroes to defeat them to prevent Thanos for acquiring all 6 Infinity Stones. On each player’s turn they will roll Power Dice and assign them to various slots within their sector. Each of these assigned dice will work towards either recruiting heroes, defeating villains, or activating Hero abilities. Each of these requires specific dice results to be assigned to them, so best hope luck in on the hero’s side when they need that last bit of Cosmic Energy to activate their abilities.

The game ends when either all of Thanos’s minions have been destroyed, ensuring the safety of the universe and victory for the players, or when Thanos has claimed the 6th Infinity Stone and gained the ability to warp reality to his whim and gained godlike powers, resulting in player defeat.
