40K RUMORS: Knight Households & Rules

There’s a new set of rumored Knight Household rules about the upcoming Imperial Knights Codex. Let’s get right to it:

We’ve had quite a bit of rumors percolating around the web these past few days. Here’s the big points, combined with what we know for sure:

Current Info & Rumors

Known:

Codex is coming after Harlequins (exact date unknown, but it won’t be long)

New Knight Castellan

New Knight Armiger Warglaive

Sub-faction Rules for Knight Households/Freeblades

 

Previous Rumors:

Armiger dual variant combo kit is introduced with new weapon options.

New Armiger variant is upgunned for more firepower.

10 Knight Datasheets included in the codex.

A new kit “Preceptor”/Knight Character combo kit is introduced.

Character kit included a detailed cockpit.

Massive Castellan is a dual combo kit that also builds a “Valiant” option.

Freeblade rules have a benefit-limitation trade-off element that can be chosen by the player.

A piece of Imperial Terrain is included – said to be focussed on rearming, improving firepower and repairing Knights.

“9 houses for the knights, Questor Imperialis- Terryn, Griffith, Hawdhrous, Cadmus and Mortan. Questor Mechanicus- Raven, Krast, Taranis, Vulker.

Griffith +1A on change, when charged or HI, ya lots of ways to heroiclly intervene with all knights. Raven advance & shoot with no penaly, heavy weap become assault type.  Vulker Reroll 1’s to hit if shooing closest target

Breaking it Down

Ok let’s clean these up:

 

Imperial Aligned Houses

These are all houses with color plates in the previous Knight Codex:

Terryn:

Cadmus:

Griffith: Grants +1A when charging, charged, or via Heroic Intervention.

Mortan:

Hawkshroud: (Hawdhrous)

 

Mechanicus Aligned Houses

These are all existing houses with color plates in the previous Knight publications:

Raven: When they make Advance moves, treat Heavy weapons as Assault weapons.

Taranis:

Krast:

Vulker: Rerolls 1’s when targeting the closent enemy unit during the shooting phase.

 

Misc Rules:

Knights gain a way to use the Heroic Intervention rule.
