Towers of Conquest by BC Games

Towers of Conquest is a competitive strategy game of territory control in a fantasy universe. The game is set on a modular, hex-based board full of resource points that need to be captured by your forces so you can generate income. Starting with a humble settlement and a few pathfinders, your goal is to raise an army and upgrade your forts into towering fortresses that unlock access to new units and abilities to crush your opposition with. The game’s ultimate units come in the form of massive titans that dwarf each faction’s basic infantry models. The core game includes four playable factions, each with a unique set of skills and upgrades that you’ll unlock over the course of a game session. Stretch goals include additional factions and expansions that increase the player count to six. You can buy the main game with all expansions and stretch goals for $160.

 

Crisis at Steamfall by BD Games

Crisis at Steamfall is a character-driven adventure game set in a steam-powered city that was constructed by fusing human and alien technology. Players will explore a randomly generated city as one of several playable characters on their quest to unlock the mysteries of the alien technology that keeps the city running before an impending disaster strikes. The game’s primary mechanic revolves around an action-building system, where you’ll gradually upgrade your character board with action tiles every turn. Players will also need to rely on the abilities of the many steampunk gadgets and allies they’ll discover as they traverse the city. You can grab your copy for $85.

 

Anno Domini 1666 by Wargamer Games Studio LTD

In Anno Domini 1666, players will get a chance to lead bands of mercenaries and adventurers in an magical alternate reality 17th century Vienna. Leopold I, the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, has suddenly and mysteriously passed away. The major monarchs of Europe have sent envoys to Vienna to participate in the upcoming elections. Each player controls a band of carefully selected agents and guards employed by the major European envoys in Vienna and are tasked with undertaking missions that can’t be accomplished in the royal court. Missions involve five to twelve miniatures per side, and run the gambit from simple skirmishes to hostage rescue. The miniatures in Anno Domini 1666 come in your choice of plastic or metal, and pledges start at $149.

Halfling Team by Iron Golems

No crowdfunding highlight article would be complete without a new fantasy football team, and for this week it’s the Buzzed Bumblebees by Iron Golems. This team of halflings consists of 16 32mm miniatures in your choice of metal or resin. You can get all 14 halflings and both treemen for €75/$87. Other pledge levels and add-ons include various accessories like dice, foam transport trays, game mats, etc.

 

WHISPER Wave 2 by Brandon Keith Fero

Around a year ago, Brandon Fero Kickstarted the first models in a line of 12mm mecha miniatures for his WHISPER sci-fi wargame setting. Now he’s back with a few additional mechs, and some more conventional armored vehicles like main battle tanks and APCs. The rules are still in early alpha, but until then you can always use some of the mechs in your favorite 10-15mm sci-fi game. Expect to pay around $15 per miniature.
