Ancient gods, Orcs from the Orient, and Viking werewolves. Come check out this week’s batch of Kickstarter highlights!

Mezo by Kolossal Games

Today’s first highlight is the relaunch of Kolossal’s Mayan-themed area control strategy game, Mezo. Four players (five with expansion) each control a Mayan tribe competing to unite the region under the worship of their god. Each god has a drastically different playstyle and are represented by some fairly sizable miniatures. Players gain the favor of their god by offering sacrifices, constructing pyramids, and conquering nearby tribes. You can get the game for as little as $55 if you don’t want all the fancy miniatures and components, with the $125 pledge offering support for five players and five additional playable gods over the base game.

Set A Watch by Rock Manor Games

Set A Watch is a fantasy adventure puzzle game about a group of heroes trying to prevent an evil cult from unleashing the ancient Unhallowed. Each round, players nominate one person to manage the party’s camp, which gives access to a variety of strategic actions and buffs to the others. The rest of the party must defend the camp from a line of monsters sent by the cultists. Players spend dice to attack and use special actions, and the combat revolves around trying to find the most efficient way to defeat the monsters before they reach camp. You can get the deluxe version of the game for $29.

Rise to Nobility: Beyond by Final Frontier Games

Our final board game of the week is Rise to Nobility: Beyond, an expansion to and reprint of a highly successful dice worker placement and engine building game by Final Frontier. This expansion adds an additional side region with new areas players can visit. The Guardian’s Glade is a market where players can purchase Relics, Elders, and Dwellings, while the Timeless Temple is a place that players can offer tribute to for buffs and Victory Points at the end of the game. Existing owners can buy the new stuff for $34, while newcomers can get the entire Rise to Nobility experience for $124.

Wrathborn by Lion Tower Miniatures

Next up on the list is Wrathborn, an upcoming 32mm fantasy skirmish game. This campaign will fund the rulebook, gaming accessories, and the initial miniatures for the first two factions, the Norndrassel and the Children of Sha. The Norndrassel are a loosely connected band of Viking-like barbarian tribes, while the Children of Sha are a race of werewolves created by the goddess of nature. You can get a two-player starter for $131.

Legends of the Jade Sea by Big Child Creatives

Big Child has returned to crowdfunding with another round of gorgeous, high quality 75mm resin miniatures for collectors and painters. As with the rest of the Black Sailors line, Legends of the Jade Sea is a series of pirate greenskin models, but as the name implies, these new miniatures will have a significantly more Asian aesthetic. The campaign launched with four characters, and more will be added as stretch goals. You can expect to pay around $56 per model, with discounted bundle options available.

Heresy Girls by Heresy Labs

Finally, we come to a short campaign that seeks to expand Heresy Lab’s line of grimdark sci-fi heroines. The campaign launched with 22 models initially, and will be adding more as stretch goals. You can grab some of Heresy Labs’ other miniatures as well at a discount. You can expect to pay around $8 per model, or you can buy the STL files if you wish to print the models yourself.
