This quick post is to show off some pictures exclusive pictures sent to use from Firelock Games. These pictures are of the 4th Rate Ship from the Oak & Iron Kickstarter.

If you do not yet know about the Oak & Iron Kickstarter Campaign, it is to fund a 1/600 naval battle game during the golden age of Pirates. Now, let’s check this ship out!

4th Rate Ship

Originally, the 4th Rate Ship was considered a “Ship of the Line” for naval battles. Overtime, they were replaced with larger 3rd Rate Ships, which became the workhorse of large naval forces. During this later time, the 4th Rate Ship was relegated to Escort Work and Flag Ships kept out of battle.

Firelock Games sent us this exclusive image to show off the 4th Rate Ships. Check out all the detail in the rear of the ship. Wow! This is going to be a great looking game on the table. The minis themselves are scaled 1/600.

This is a nice looking model. I am really looking forward to seeing these ships once the game releases.

Wrapping it up…

Thanks goes out to the guys at Firelock Games for sending us these exclusive images. Everything so far looks great. Remember to check out their Kickstarter Page. Oak & Iron is doing very well and there is still plenty of time to get in on this deal.
