So GW officially said this is the best Ork codex ever… I don’t ever remember them saying that before about any release. The Codex may be a harbinger of big changes in the future.

For certain GW wants this to be a big success and so do I. The current meta needs a big shake up to set things right again. Orks has Kulturs, Space Marines have traits and so on so forth. Weren’t Death Skulls once known as Deffskullz? LOL !!!

A Challenger Rises

We only just got to catch our breath following the recent release of the big FAQ 2 and the next Chapter Approved is literally right around the corner now. Imperial Knights are in the midst of being pounded into so much dirt and rightly so. If you are planning to jump onto the big mean green band wagon then be prepared to spend a lot of money and set aside a lot of time to assemble all the required models and paint them. Any decent new Ork army should easily have at least 90 Boyz.

The New Normal

Buy plenty of green paint becasue The hobby is flexing it’s muscles finally again – as a result if you want to play competitively at big events going forward you’re going to have to meet ALL the minimum army requirements… including painting.  This is the way it should have always been… this is actually the way it once was when GW ran the Grand Tournament circuit back in the day. What happened is there was a grass roots movement to nix the hobby in favor of going purely WAAC and there are still an untold amount of horror stories in its wake. RIP.

It’s almost like a hobby track is coming back from the dead. For example if your army is not WYSIWYG and/or does not meet the minimum painting requirements at a big event these days, your opponent might call you out any round and you’re gonna get hit with the big ole DQ stick. It’s sad times for all the WAAC no-hobby players all around the world. If you don’t believe me just wait and see… People are tired of all the drama. Honesty it’s just as much about the hobby as the game and rightly so.

Orks Leading the Changes?

I have been following all the hot press about the new Orks… to be honest there are some seriously mixed feelings. Some are very upset about the basic Boy clocking in now at 7 points per model but this the future. GW likes to give but GW really loves to take. Hordes have been the king of Eighth Edition but with the points increase coming in the next Chapter Approved the meta is going to change and mark my words yes indeed. We are literally gaming in an era of constant change… Tzeentch must be truly pleased. Look at what’s happened to all the super cheesy infiltrating armies like Alpha Legion and Raven Guard. Oh well that’s what happens when you abuse a good thing.

In the meantime, get painting those greenskins and you can’t go wrong.

~So hold onto your seats a little longer and just wait it out – good things are assuredly coming.
