Come check out exactly what’s up with Legion of Fallen Dark Angels and other mysteries GW is laying down in 8th Edition.

GW has gotten much better at laying down breadcrumbs and plot hooks for future development. they are all about developing the narratives these days. So it’s a great time to go back and look at some of the mysteries they have introduced in the lat 2 years that I’m sure will lead up to exciting things in the future.

Guilliman’s Armor – Um so he was given armor designed by Cawl, but Cawl can’t be sure of exactly who came up with the idea in the first place – but he knows Harlequins are involved. And if Guilliman ever takes it off – bad stuff will happen.  Yup, I’m sure that loose end isn’t ever being gonna come up again…

There’s a Fallen Legion – Wait WHAT? For those keeping score at home, there are 9000 Unforgiven, counting Successor Chapters. So a conservative guess at the size of Legion that could could “Bring the entire galaxy to heel” is probably at least 10:1 bigger than they are.  They are mustering in the Imperium Nihilus, so hey let the Blood Angels deal with them. Also probably Cypher.

The Shadowkeepers Cadian Prey – Custodes Shadowkeepers were sent to broken Cadia on a secret mission. I’m sure they are hauling something big and important back to a jailcell underneath the Imperial Palace. What or Who?

Blackstone Wars – Cawl and the Necrons are fighting wars across the galaxy for possession of Blackstone, the material used inthe construction of the lost Pylons on Cadia. But for what purpose?

Scions of the Octavian War – The Inquisition tricked the Tyranids and Orks to fight to a standstill in the Octavian War to buy time. The hardened and evolved survivors have set out to make the Imperium pay. What horrors will emerge is a mystery.

The Wolftime – The Space Wolves believe the stars are alignd and Russ’ return is imminent.

The Terminus Decree – With the Galaxy burning, all the Grey Knight Grandmasters consider “The Terminus Decree” for the first time in their history.  I’m sure it’s nothing big…

The Phoenician – Fulgrim has been on the move, sighted on battlefields by doomed Astra Militarum units and has been whispering in Guilliman’s ear.

Peturabo’s Lament – Perturabo was personally bested by Mortarion while fighitng over a xenos techno-trove.  He and his Iron Warriors departs his brother bitter. I’m sure he’ll be back for some iron-cold revenge.

Ahriman’s Redemption – Seeing at last proof the automaton, Rubric Marines can be restored to full health by the Yncarne, Ahriman is marching on Commorragh to complete his quest.

Tau 2nd Front – The Tau have established a new empire far to the galactic north thanks to a stable wormhole. There, the Water Caste has recruited a new race, the Charpactin into the Empire – with the power to make sentient beings docile and amenible. Handy!

Blackstone Fortress – Yeah, so about that quasi-sentient Blackstone Fortress on the edge of the Galaxy. The one that is drawing ships from across the galaxy to it while they are in the Warp – and eating them. Nothing to see here citizen, move along.

Men of Iron – Not quite dead yet. There’s no school like the Old School. EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!

~Where do you think GW is taking these and what will they lead to in the months and years ahead?
