The stage is set: after the fall of Cadia, a hero, lost for centuries in the warp emerges to find an Imperium in need. The curtain rises as we glimpse the prologue to Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2.
Emerging from the Warp is always a treacherous business. Emerging from the Warp after having been lost within for untold aeons–that is the stuff of legends, and yet, it is how at least one of the campaigns in Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 is poised to begin. With the hero of the first Battlefleet Gothic Armada, Admiral Spire, emerging from the Warp to find that 800 years have passed, and Cadia has fallen at the hands of Abaddon the Despoiler.
And you thought Mondays were bad…
Accompanying this trailer is news that you’ll be able to get in on a second round of pre-order beta. This one shows off more of the Necron and Imperium campaigns, as well as snag yourself a 10% discount on the game itself. So if you’re already sold on this game of starship combat in the 41st Milennium, you’ve got an opportunity to take the game for a spin ahead of time. Suit up with your fleet of Imperial Battlecruisers, Necron Tomb Ships, or Ork Rokks and be ready to take on life around Abaddon’s 13th Black Crusade.
And right now we know that Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2’s Imperial Campaign will feature the return of Admiral Spire. I mean, they come out and say it at the very end of the trailer, so get ready to see the hero of the first game come up against Abaddon the Despoiler’s forces. It’ll probably go about as well as you’d think.
Especially since now Abaddon has thrown away his Blackstone Fortresses. At any rate, the pre-order beta starts one week from today, so prepare yourselves, the Imperium needs heroes.
Good luck, captains!
