Goatboy here again and I am throwing down my current Ork competitive list. It proper Orky – hits hard and plays fast.

It is a mixture of bodies with hard hitting units to allow me to hopefully finish games.  That is the big thing in all of this is that no matter what you think your math hammer might outdo – if you can’t finish your turns you will lose.  You could be crushing them but if they are keeping up with the progressive point dance then no matter how many 6’s you roll you will end up with that unsweet taste of at tie.

Play fast – ride fast!

I normally think a solid horde player will usually do well in most games.  It gets so hard to remove a ton of models from the table top plus mixed with the ability to control the majority of the board.  The issue comes in with the overall lack of speed of play and with my lack of consistent play testing time I have less chances to really speed up my play.  Thus I have to figure out units, methods, and abilities to help me move faster, get turns done, and keep the mission at the forefront of my brain.

How I Love Greenskins, Let Me Count the Ways

I really like the new Ork Codex as it feels like it can do most things I like in an army.  It shoots a lot, is very aggressive, and has a really strong troop choice.  I am normally known to play a ton of Daemon Princes, Characters, and some other weird combo’d nonsense.  With the Orks I can sorta play that way as each character can do a lot, hit really hard, and give me that special feeling in my brain as they move in, get close, and Krump the heck out of you.  I am not the biggest fan of the Lootas as they feel fairly static – plus heavy terrain hurts them as they have to try and find a shot or two.  This has me moving away from that and looking at an army that’s plan is to move around, be a pain to remove, and throws out a ton of damage.

I used to play Nob bikers when they first came out.  Heck I won a ton of local events throwing down with 20 jerks and 2 Warbosses causes property values to drop as they moved into the neighborhood.  Thus why I have a ton of random bikers to use in the army.  Goatboy loves to go zoom zoom and the Orks love it too.

I do think there is something to be said for a Kommando based army as another way to generate waves of damage.  I just don’t really have any and painting more regular boyz has me twitching to think about it.  Heck I am already sighing at having to rebase 90 boyz for this army.  But enough of this introduction dance let’s throw out this double Nob Biker army.

Waaagh TacTiks

So what does this army do?  It has 2 units that shoot 90 shots, has a decent amount of bodies that can be thrown around, some good special Characters, and abusive stratagems for double move or a deep strike with a rerollable 8 inch charge.  It is very aggressive, not too big, and lets me play all phases of the game.  If I bring this to the event I think the plan should be to set up dice cups with the right amount of shots in there based on the weapon.  This will let you quickly move from each unit and shoot the right amount of shots quickly.

That’s it for now.  Currently I am trying to figure out what I need to do for my LVO list as I have to carve out some time to paint some things, update some things (Bases) and heck decide if I even want to do all of that.  Lots of things to think about.  Hopefully I will get a playlets with this list in soon and let myself make a true decision.
