Take a look at what the past of EPIC Scale, to see Adeptus Titanicus’ roots, and the biggest tiniest game there ever was.

There has been a lot of excitement from the player base around the beautiful return of Adeptus Titanicus.   As an Old-old-old-timer I remember playing most of the old 6mm series games back in the day. But by far, my favorite love was EPIC.  And in particular the early good versions of it, the 1989-1991’s Space Marine (1st and 2nd edition), and 1994’s Titan Legions.

It’s best to just ignore the ill-advised EPIC Armageddon a decade later which was… shall we say uninspiring.

Back to the glory days of EPIC.  I was always impressed with the amazing sense of scale that the teensy 6mm EPIC granted. You really felt like a general commanding truly huge battles that looked like this:

So many of the great units and giant creatures in the game now originally came from EPIC.  I’ve been loving the brand new Adeptus Titanicus that includes all the new digital sculpting technology and advances the last 20 years could achieve.

I personally think 6mm was too small and the rebooted Titanicus grants us all the new glorious detail with it’s slightly bigger scale. It is still early days for Titanicus, but they are kicking out releases fast and I’m looking forward to seeing all the giant Forge World models showing up in teensy scale for ease of destruction and packing back into our army cases 🙂 Looking at you Warbringer!
