Heart of Night is the darker third act that brings to a close Starfinder’s sci-fi horror experiment that was the Signal of Screams Adventure Path. With Shadows and faceless beasts looming, and extraplanar horrors lurking in the corridors of silent, empty starships, the atmosphere is killer… take a look.

Sci-fi Horror is one of my favorite genres to play around with. Nothing quite like space and monsters to make you feel truly alone–after all, out there is the void–but somehow it’s darker than the darkest, emptiest region of space when the monster looms ever closer. And all that separates you from oblivion is a few measly layers of high-tech material that seems flimsy now. And for the final act of the Signal of Screams, the folks at Paizo are pulling out all the stops: an ever-expanding region of corrupting darkness spreading through a maddening signal, aliens from the plane of Shadow, new frightening monsters jumping into reality–there’s a lot at work here which really punches up the final act. No more jump-scare fake outs here, now the monsters are real. And they’re hungry.

Heart of Night – $22.99 (Pre-Order)

Shadow of a Doubt

Trapped on the Shadow Plane, the heroes find their only hope of returning home is to find and defeat Dr. Lestana Gragant, the twisted scientist who is attempting to broadcast a maddening signal throughout the galaxy. If the PCs can make their way past shadowy foes and terrifying obstacles, they might be able to wash the stain of corruption from their souls!

This volume of Starfinder Adventure Path concludes the Signal of Screams Adventure Path and includes:

  • “Heart of Night,” a Starfinder adventure for 11th-level characters, by Saif Ansari.
  • Advice on how you can continue your campaign past the final encounter and details on the horrors to come should the heroes fail, by Tracy Barnett.
  • An exploration of the creepy Shadow Plane, as well as numerous player options for those connected to that plane, by Thurston Hillman.
  • An archive of alien frights, including a memory-stealing fey and a faceless beast, by Saif Ansari, Stephen Glicker, and James L. Sutter.
  • Statistics and deck plans for a velstrac starship, by Saif Ansari, plus a glimpse of a world of waking dreams, by Owen K.C. Stephens.

Happy Adventuring!
