40K HOBBY: Rogue Trader Pirate Crew

A few weeks back, several of the Flylords started playing FantasyFlight’s new Space Rogue RPG. And it’s been a lot of fun. One of the downsides is we don’t have the models to represent some of the unsavory characters that a typical rogue trader crew comes across. While pondering this dilemma, I noticed the unopened box of LoTR Corsairs of Umbar that I won at a tournament a few months back. Long story short, a few weapon swaps with the cadian and catachan sprues and we had ourselves a motley crew of space pirates.

It was a very easy conversion. Take out a few sabers, shields and bows and replace them with chainswords, lasguns and a flamethrower; sprinkle in some frag grenades and ammo clips for good measure, and you have a convincing pirate crew in the 41st millennia.
