Conquest 40k Box_Cover

It’s a Warhammer 40k Conquest triple feature. We unbox the last 3 expansions for the Warlord Cycle – Check this out!

Hey again BoLS Readers, it’s AdamHarry with more Warhammer 40k Conquest LCG action! This time we are taking a look at the last THREE expansions for the Warlord Cycle. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the terminology let me explain. A Cycle is a complete set of of expansions designed together and released over an allotted time schedule. In Fantasy Flight Games case this refers to the Warlord Cycle which is made up of 6 total War Packs (ie, Expansions) for Conquest. Also, Conquest is an LCG or Living Card Game – this means there is no randomness to the packs (unlike a Collectible Card Game or CCG). You buy a war pack and you get the exact same cards as everyone else – this helps to keep the game relatively balanced and fair. You’re not reliant on getting lucky with your purchases to have a complete or competitive deck.

The last three War Packs of the Warlord Cycle are Zogwort’s Curse, The Threat Beyond, and Descendants of Isha.

Also – just because you play one faction doesn’t mean you should skip or avoid a pack. Each pack contains cards for each faction so it’s beneficial to purchase each one. They all cost the same $14.95 so if you buy them at the time of release (usually every month or two) you’re really not breaking the bank to stay current – another reason I really like LCG formats!

On to the videos:

Zogwort’s Curse $14.95

Unleash the power of the Waaagh! in Zogwort’s Curse, the fourth War Pack in the Warlord cycle for Warhammer 40,000: Conquest. The Orks find a powerful new psyker to lead them in this War Pack, allowing you to spread a green tide of destruction across the planets of the Traxis sector. Alongside the vicious Orks, you’ll find powerful new vehicles for the Astra Militarum, dark wargear for the servants of Nurgle, and hideous Dark Eldar torture events.

This pack contains Warlord Zogwort and his buddies. Silly orks…You spell wart with an “A” not an “O”. ‘Ere we go….

The Threat Beyond $14.95

It is your duty to safeguard the Imperium and vanquish corruption, and to accomplish this, you must bring the Traxis sector under the Emperor’s protection. The Threat Beyond War Pack is the fifth War Pack in the Warlord cycle for Warhammer 40,000: Conquest, and it calls you to fulfill this noble goal with a new Inquisitor warlord for the Astra Militarum. This War Pack also continues the major themes of the Warlord cycle, introducing new warlords and new ways to take advantage of their prowess.

This pack contains everyone FAVORITE Inquisitor Eisenhorn  Torquemada Coteaz! If you’ve ever wanted a pet Imperial Eagle (you know the one with two heads) this is the War Pack for you!

Descendants of Isha $14.95

Long ago, there was only one race of Eldar, but their depravity led inexorably to Chaos. Now, you must choose whether you will walk the path of asceticism and self-denial with the Eldar or revel in unlimited excess and devour the souls of your enemies with the Dark Eldar. Whichever faction you embrace, however, you’ll find new options to draw upon the power of the galaxy’s ancient races in Descendants of Isha!

This is the War Pack all of the Dark Eldar and Eldar players have been waiting for. It contains TWO Warlords, one for each of the pointy-eared space-elves. Urien and his torturous ways shows up with his goody-two-shoes cousin Baharroth the Swooping Hawk Phoenix Lord.

Again – each one of these packs does contain a themed Warlord (based on the title) but it also includes cards for each other faction. For example, if you wanted to build a Space Wolves themed deck you’re going to want to use cards from each expansion in this cycle.

Conquest Box Spread

Warhammer 40k Conquest is just scratching the surface of the Warhammer Universe – they have already released the first Deluxe Expansion The Great Devourer (which we did a video of here) and have announced five out of the six War Packs for the next Cycle “Planetfall” which is still currently in development. Oh, and if you’re a Necron fan and have been feeling a little left out, I would put money on a Necron themed Deluxe Expansion in the future…

Check out Fantasy Flight Games for more information if you’re interested in playing Conquest. It’s a great change of pace from the tabletop and a lot of fun to boot!

It’s a 40k card game with the fun of both Warhammer 40k and Magic the Gathering but with a price tag of X-Wing. What’s not to like!?
