The BoLS Crew get to chat with Erik Mona from Paizo Publishing about Pathfinder & a few other surprises!

GenCon 2016 was a great time and we got a chance to sit and talk with Erik Mona the publisher and Chief Creative Officer for Paizo Publishing. He had a lot of goodies to show off and talk about:

The   this year was the new Horror Adventures Book hitting shelves. If you’re looking for something on the creepy side then Horror Adventures is for you. It’s got all the tools and skills to turn your characters into all manner of things that go bump in the night. Plus it has a bunch of new character archtypes, feats, spells & more. And it’s not just for players, it’s got tips for running a genuine horror game along with all the different types of horror sub-genres. Vampires, Werewolves, Alien-Gods – oh, my!

Next up on the list of cool new things is the Pathfinder Pocket Edition. This book isn’t just a smaller, condensed version of the core rules – it’s also got all the Game Master rules in the book as well! This book packs it all in there with the latest printing so everything is current: This is the most accurate, concise and up-to-date version of the Pathfinder ruleset out there. If you want to play Pathfinder and don’t know where to start then buy this book!

We also got to chat about the new setting and game Starfinder! I’m not going to spoil the video but it’s a whole new adventure set IN SPACE! New races, skills, gear, spells & more – it’s one of the biggest things coming to the RPG world so keep an eye out for that (and watch the video for all the details).

Another thing that was pretty cool to learn about is the upcoming Pathfinder comic out from Paizo and Dynamite comics – Pathfinder: Worldscape! It’s a giant cross-over fantasy world that Erik Mona wrote and it has a lot of talented artist on the project as well. If you are a fan of Conan or Red Sonja style stuff from Dynamite comics then keep an eye out for this one too!

Erik also goes over some more things in the works from Paizo and some of their partners. It’s really exciting time to be an RPG gamer – even if you’re not Role Playing using the Pathfinder rule set the adventures they publish and materials they produce will still help you become a better player, GM or writer in general. So be sure to check them out!

Few individuals would think to seek out such nightmares, but those drawn into the darkness often find it infecting them, corrupting them in ways both subtle and disgusting. Some believe those who die facing such horrors are the lucky ones, for the survivors are forever scarred by their experiences.

Pathfinder RPG Horror Adventures gives you everything you need to bring these nightmares to life. Within these pages, you’ll find secrets to take your game into the darkest reaches of fantasy, where the dead hunger for the living, alien gods brood in dreams, and madness and death lurk around every corner. Rules for players and GMs alike pit brave champions against a darkness capable of devouring mind, body, and soul. To prepare to face such torments, the heroes can take new feats, learn powerful spells, and even acquire holy relics—for they’ll need every edge possible to survive!”
