A Daemon Prince of Nurgle is doing the rounds – but I’ll you decide what it is…

For some reason, of all the recent starter sets GW has put out, the Getting Started book for Warhammer 40,000 is the gift that keeps on giving.

First of all it’s $9 and comes with a Primaris Marine on a fancy base – cool.

Next it coughed up the gift of the Nurgle Plagueburst Crawler tank!

And today we have yet another mystery mini from this mighty tome.

Get a load of this mini from pgs: 24, 37,39

The Obvious Questions:

Is that a new Daemon Prince of Nurgle?

We know from GW that the big Death Guard release is shambling towards us – right after the Space Marine codex/releases.  If there was a time to release a Nurgle Daemon Prince this would be a good time.

So take a hard look at the mini and then look at the current plastic mini:

Clearly built upon the same kit…

But then again, so is the Rhino/Razorback/Predator, and so is the Bloodthirster/Skarbrand.

Do you think it’s a conversion (which GW would be disincluned to include in a “Start playing 40,000” book, or an update/variant to the existing Daemon prince kit? the current kit is clearly designed to represent “generic” Daemon Princes. I could see GW kick out an upgrade sprue providing Khorne/Slaanesh/Tzeentch/Nurgle upgrade bits – in fact it would quite useful.

So get out your magnifying glasses and make the call yourself.

~It’s an odd one.
