Break out the magnifying glass and see exactly what the Death Guard are bringing. There are at least two mysteries.

I just love a new codex. but even more that getting it – I love solving mysteries.  Let’s take a close look at the newest army pic of the Death Guard and try to piece together all the rumors we’ve seen over the last few weeks.

The New Army Pic

GW kicked out this army shot and we’ve gone in with a magnifying glass to see what’s in there and compare it to the teases that have been coming since Adepticon.

This image is big, so you can click on it to get a closer look.  I’ll take these by the numbers.

1 – Mortarion

The Primarch in all his Nurgley glory is here.  Finally we get a good sense of scale compared to the inis around him.  He’s actually quite a large mini.

2 – Typhus

If that’s not Typhus I’ll eat my hat. Everything checks out and I would be shocked if it’s something else.

3 – Trio of Scythe-Armed Terminators

These have large Typhus-style Destroyer Hive vents, and look slightly larger and more ornate than the standard Terminators below.  I would think these are Deathshroud.

4- Death Guard Terminators

These appear to be the “standard termys” for the army. They have ranged weapons and smaller, or missing destroyer hive details on top. There appear to be 4 or 5 of them in the pic – difficult to make out.

5- Foetid Bloat-Drones

There are three of these, with two having new weapons. This must be a standalone kit.

6 – Plagueburst Crawler

The siege-mortar tank. There are two of them up there, pushing that giant dozer-shield forward. The vehicle has the enormous mortar up top, and a teensy forward weapon – maybe a flamer of some type.

7 – Plague Marines

You get three sets of Plague marines on the left, middle and right of the picture. Thee look to be a mix of the quick assemble plastics, with some new ones we have not seen – so a standalone kit is coming.

8 – Poxwalkers

You know em – you love em. Brainsss…

9 – Mystery Man

Note this single figure sitting apart from all the others.  It might be a single Plague Marine put there to fill space in the composition, but it might be something special.

Missing In Action

I’ve looked all over this pic and couldn’t find our friend with the abacus – the Tallyman. We also have no sign of the Lord of Contagion, Malignant Plaguecaster, or the Noxious Blightbringer

Have you seen me?

~This is going to be a very, very large release window for the Death Guard. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it take up most of September.
