East beyond the careful watch of Hernfar Isle in Terrinoth’s northeast, and as far south as the edge of the Aymhelin, the sun-bleached steppes of the Ru gleam across the wide Lothan River. The inhospitable lands are home to the vicious, demon-worshipping tribes of the Uthuk Y’llan. Once thought dead, the ancient enemy has returned from exile in the distant east to ravage Terrinoth once more. Today, we’ll journey to that blighted land for a closer look at Ravos the Everhungry, the dark hero of the Uthuk Y’llan Army Expansion for Runewars Miniatures Game!

As a leader of the Uthuk, Ravos is the embodiment of everything they take pride in. He is ruthless and greedy, imposing and cruel. He has no fear and shows no mercy. As a warrior in combat he has Brutal 1, Precise 1, and Steadfast [Fear 2]. Ravos also doesn’t care about who he strikes down with his massive Scythe, friend or foe! He can spend a surge to cause each enemy at range 1 to suffer a wound but before each end phase, you must choose a unit at range 1 and it also suffers 1 wound!

His other ability, Ynfernael Presence, also causes every enemy unit to receive 1 panic token after setup. His enemies grow concerned by this towering stature! And if all that wasn’t deadly enough he also rolls a white, red and blue dice for his melee attack. He’s going to hit hard and be able to punish his foes up close!

Ravos the Everhungry is the first hero unit in the game to also be catagorized as a siege unit. However, unlike the more defensive siege units, he moves with an unpredictable pace. He can march at initative 4 with a speed equal to the number of unstable energy runes on the board – or he can wait unitl initative 8 to speed 4 forward.

Ravos also has two different melee actions on his dial, one at initiative 3 and another at initiative 6. He may wish to strike first against his enemies or he might want to wait until later in the turn to allow his fiendish allies get their licks in. Another facet of his melee actions that that they can be paired with either “bonus hits or inflict significant panic.” If you get really lucky you could even get some bonus panic icons in the fight which will really cause your opponents trouble when their morale tests trigger…

Ravos can also be taken in as an upgrade card and he can be just as devastating. And he also has a unique upgrade card that allows him to get an extra speed-1 or -2 march before the End Phase. This move can also be treated as if it was modified by a turn as well. This big man is also surprisingly agile as he maneuvers around the tabletop.
