In this Insider, I’ll be discussing the concept creation for the MiniCrate-exclusive Bradigan Pitt. The basic concept is Bloody Bradigan imagined as a parody of the Tyler Durden character from the film Fight Club. The character has several iconic outfits, so I initially sketched up versions of the ones I liked from the beginning, middle, and end of the movie.

The tricky part here is that the character doesn’t have more facial hair than a goatee or soul patch, and he has a full head of hair until the end of the movie. Outside of the large, old-timey boxer physique, Bloody Bradigan has a visually distinct bald head and an old-style mustache, and he’s covered in tattoos. I felt like covering up his tattoos, removing his mustache, or adding hair was the wrong way to go, so I kept those elements in my quick sketches. What we decided on was the outfit from the end of the film sans A Frame shirt. I then worked up the following sketch:

After mulling it over a bit, I decided to change his shoes to something a bit more suitable for the Iron Kingdoms, put the soap in his hand, and give him back his spiked collar.

This sketch was approved as final, so I proceeded to lay down a two-tone color pass for painting reference.

Then we move on to a render of what the final model might look like and we’re off to production.
