ToyLand: Hasbro Expands Black Series with Sandtrooper & Dewback
Hasbro’s collector’s series adds the infamous beasts to to its 6 inch scale vehicles line. It’s got an updated look with great features that still manages to hark back to the classic toys from the 1970s.
The giant reptiles first appeared in A New Hope as a large animatronic. A version was quickly added to Kenner’s toy line, and to all of our wish lists. It’s gone through many iterations since 1979 to go with new film releases – including some weird looking chibi versions.
The Sandtrooper is decked out in movie accurate armor with a cooling unit, modified sand filtering helmet, and survival backpack. He comes with 2 weapon options. His dewback mount includes a saddle with pouches and bed roll. Both are articulated, and are painted with realistic detail.
The set is available now at retailers – it is, understandably, sold out in certain places but you can find it with a little searching. It’s a good addition to any Star Wars collection.
