Soul Wars is the new boxed set that kicks of an era. Come dive inside Age of Sigmar, Second Edition with the newest (and possibly best) box for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.

There’s a lot to get through in this box, so let’s dive right in. Here’s our video folks:

Like I said, there’s a lot to dive in to. First up there’s the Age of Sigmar Core Book–which we note will probably have a standalone release before too long, there’s a lot we can learn from the 8th Edition roll out–the book is chock full of new lore, an updated timeline for the Mortal Realms. We get the conclusion to the events of Malign Portents, which have set the current state of affairs in order.

We learn that Skaven infiltration into Nagash’s great upside down pyramid–the Nadir of Shyish–in search of warpstone, which they want because Skaven and warpstone go together like the Old World and a Cataclysmic apocalypse that wipes the whole thing out in a cavalcade of fire and death. Leave it to the Skaven to mess things up for an entire existence yet again as their interference sets off the Necroquake, a backlash from Nagash’s big ritual which unleashed a plague of undeath throughout the Mortal Realms.

Now the dead rise on battlefields throughout the realm, while Slaanesh stirs in the cosmic void between Hysh and Ulgu, in the Hidden Gloaming. Endless Spells rampage across the Realms. There’s a lot going on here, is what we’re saying.

But on top of that, there’s the new models. The new Sacrosanct Chamber of the Stormcast Eternals has sent a force to do battle with the spectres of the Nighthaunt Wraiths. There are 52 new miniatures on display which show off the new forces of Age of Sigmar. With the Sacrosanct Stormcasts you get the Cleric wing of the Azyrites. They’ve got more magical might at their disposal, bringing the lightning and power of Sigmar to the battlefield.

Meanwhile the Nighthaunt Wraiths are amazingly detailed, each one has remnants of who they were in life. Cowards and criminals and traitors and unfortunate souls caught up in the wake of undeath, now transformed into wraiths and ghosts who ravage the living according to Nagash’s will.

Whose side will you fight upon in the Soul Wars?
