The Legion release schedule is in full swing and new units are being introduced all the time. Let talk about what the next commanders we need are.

Currently we’ve had 5 commanders, 3  Rebel and 2 Imperial, announced for Star Wars Legion. Since all but Han have been released its about time to start wondering what commanders could, and should, come next.  Here is my list:

Hera Syndulla

Hera is a well loved character form Star Wars Rebels. A brave commander she first commands the Rebel Specter Cell,  before taking over Phoenix Squadron. By the end of the war, Hera a veteran of both Scarif and Endor was a General.  Though most famous as a pilot and fighter commander, her time as a Rebel commando  has given her extensive experience in ground combat. As a hero from the new canon, and a fairly recent show, Hera is a great fit for a command. She would also gain bonus points for being a non-human adding some nice variety.

Thrawn

The Grand Admiral should really need no introduction. Thrawn is one of the primer Imperial commanders and a wildly popular character. Hes also been fairly recently brought into the new canon with books, comics and appearances on Rebels. Like Hera, who he often serves as a foil to, he is mostly known as a fleet commander. However he does has experiences in ground combat and is a master in hand to hand combat. I’d frankly be shocked if he didn’t show in Legion.

Saw Gerrera

Saw, much like Hera, was the leader of another early Rebel cell. Unlike the heroic Hera, he espoused the use of some extreme tactics, often crossing the line from freedom fighter to terrorist. This ultimately lead to a break with the main Rebel forces. Unlike most of the main Rebel characters in Rogue One, Saw is actually a leader, with decades of practice in leading guerrilla forces. Still, he’s not one to stay safe a planet away, so this makes him a perfect candidate for a Rebel commander. Hopefully his rules would push the player into a very different Rebel play style.

Orson Krennic

Possessing the best cape in all of Star Wars Director Orson Krennic would fill in as the 3rd Imperial Commander. While Vader is a one man murder machine and Veers a battlefield commander, Krennic could fill in as a more covert hero. He’s not above getting his hands dirty or using a blaster but his main strength would be in the tech he can bring to the battle. Also that cape will just look so cool.

Enfys Nest

I won’t give out too many spoilers but Enfys Nest was just one of the amazing parts of Solo.  This badass warrior leads a band of proto-Rebels in the movie. With a really unique look and some cool equipment Nest would be a great leader in Legion. Bonus points if they make Nest the first commander that’s also not an infantry model.

Gar Saxon

Gar Saxon was a Mandalorian who sided with the Empire and was made Vicreroy of Mandelor. A devious warrior Saxon acted as commander of the Imperial Super Commandos and was no stranger to a fight. As an Imperial commander he would act as a front line fighter, leading his firepower to his troops. He would hopefully come  with some of his Super Commandos and could lead a very distinctive Imperial force.
