Horus Heresy: Legions Invades iOS & Android
The new Horus Heresy Digital Card Game is out now and available for iOS and Android. Get ready to fight the battles that shattered the Imperium in The Horus Heresy: Legions!
If you have an iOS or Android device then there is a new App you should check out. The Horus Heresy: Legions is a digital card game based on the Black Library series. It follows the events of the series and looks to have some solid card-game mechanics under the hood, too.
Let the galaxy burn or fight for the Emperor, choosing from dozens of playable Warlords, from unsung heroes like Captain Ehrlen to legendary Primarchs like Fulgrim. Build a deck of 30 cards and play fast, edge-of-your-seat duels online in one versus one turn-based card battles.
Gameplay wise, it looks like a mix between Hearthstone and Magic: The Gathering – but with a Horus Heresy skin (obviously). Players generate energy at on their turns to play cards which all have different effects. It also looks like you’ll get a “main character” card which functions a cornerstone and hero for your deck. The matches end when on of the heroes falls in the card duel.
The Horus Heresy: Legions also has a deckbuilding aspect along with other CCG elements. One neat thing about the game is that you can use the same collection across the different platforms – it doesn’t matter if you’re on iOS or Android, you can log into either and use the same cards you’ve unlocked.
Campaign Play
The game actually does have a starting campaign:
“[The Horus Heresy: Legions] begins letting you play through Loken’s ordeal on Isstvan III, and experience the Warmaster’s betrayal first hand: charge on the Isstvanian rebels at the Choral City, fight your way towards a shelter to survive the virus bombing, link up with Captain Tarvitz and defend the ruins of Praal’s stronghold until the bitter end, all in hopes it will give Garro more time to warn the Emperor of this treachery.”
The first content expansion Isstvan V Legions is already available. It features the Iron Hands, Salamanders and the Raven Guard. Get ready to use their Primarchs and follow their storylines in future game events as well.
That’s right – the game will feature in game events that progress the storyline as you make your way toward Terra. In these events, players can score points for their faction and the winning factions will unlock “permanent, game-changing effects!”

It’s Space Marine versus Space Marine in The Horus Heresy: Legions, a new strategy card game (TCG) where your actions and card battles change the game.
Choose your Legion, collect cards and build a deck of Space Marines aided by Mechanicum, Imperial Army or Chaos to rule the galaxy. Join a guild, discuss card strategy and decks, and fight in PvP Arena card battles. Choose a side in epic Faction Wars to influence which new cards, cosmetics and Legions are added to the game. Enter The Horus Heresy, one of the richest settings in the Warhammer 40,000 universe by Games Workshop, for the first time as an online TCG card game.
