Goatboy here again and as we recover from Thankgiving – let’s just look at two opposing lists I have ready to throw down on the tabletop.

This should be falling on the Friday after Thanksgiving and while everyone is either sleeping in from the turkey feast, recovering from Black Friday Nonsense, or going into work like myself.  I have a ton of models to play with and usually I have a few consistent lists worked up to make sure I always have a chance to get a game in.  I usually think of them as Good Guys and Bad Guys lists.  I am working on an Ork army too – but I need to rebase my infantry to feel right about the choices – plus some small paint tweaks.  Thus no – Goatboy’s Current Ork list army list etc.

The “Good” Guys

First let’s start with the Good guys list.  I built up a Custodes list to take to a local event in Dallas last year so I would like to play them again.  I am hoping the Melta missiles go down in points as they could be a way to get some longer range firepower to murder some vehicles.  The originally army had issues with Dark Eldar and I still expect it to be an issue as a lot of my tricks are stopped by Vect.  Having some longer range/higher damage firepower might help to remove a Ravager or two.  The original list used the regrow mechanic but as the changes with the FAQ caused things to get updated and thus the change of adding my Blood Angels Captain as the Warlord.

Cadian Battalion aka the Loyal 32 “Give me 5 CP or I cut you!”
HQ: Commander – 30pts
HQ: Commander – 30pts
Troops: 10 Guardsmen – 40pts
Troops: 10 Guardsmen – 40pts
Troops: 10 Guardsmen – 40pts

Blood Angels Battalion
HQ: Captain, Jump Pack, Thunder Hammer, Storm Shield – Warlord – Gift of Foresight – Relic – Angels Wings – 129pts
HQ: Captain, Jump Pack, Thunder Hammer, Storm Shield – Relic – The Hammer of Baal – 129pts
HQ: Mephiston – 145pts
Troops: Scouts X 5 – 55pts
Troops: Scouts X 5 – 55pts
Troops: Scouts X 5 – 55pts

Outrider Detachment – Custodes
HQ: Shield Captain on Dawneagle Jetbike, Misericordia, Relic – Auric Aquilas – 164pts
FA: Vertus Praetors X 4, Hurricane Bolters – 360pts
FA: Vertus Praetors X 4, Hurricane Bolters – 360pts
FA: Vertus Praetors X 4, Hurricane Bolters – 360pts

PTS – 1992 – CP – 14 – 1 (BA relic) -2 (DC) -1 (Custodes Relic) = 10 CP

I really hope the Salvo Missile Launcher goes down in points as it would be nice to have the option to throw a few high damage shots as a tank or two.  I guess it depends on if we see a true Rhino Rush coming back beyond the GSC one we saw win Da Boyz.  I think this list would do ok versus the Orks as it can throw out so many bolter shots and with its speed.  Still a blob of Lootas will do some damage when they get a chance to unleash the bullet beast.

The Bad Guys

Here is my current bad guy list.  It’s really basic and I have everything painted.  Half of it is converted and I would need to sync up my bases to really get it working well.  I could also throw in a heavy Daemon Prince list – but I don’t have the initial bubble wrap done at this point.  I am kinda getting away from the Cultists blobs and would rather look at things like Plague Bearers (Don’t have enough to do the full amount) or something goofy like a ton of Nurglings.  I like the following list as its just big, dumb, and lets me assault things well.  Oh I went with Battle Cannons as I need the range as this Knight normally keeps towards the back of the table as the Zerks get mixed in.

World Eaters Battalion
HQ: Dark Apostle, Combi-Bolter, Power Maul – Relic – Brass Collar of Borghaster – 78pts
HQ: Exalted Champion, Chainsword, Warlord – Exalted Champion – Power Axe – Relic – Axe of Blinding Fury – 75pts
Troops: Khorne Berzerkers X 8, Chainsword/Chainaxe – 136pts
Troops: Khorne Berzerkers X 8, Chainsword/Chainaxe – 136pts
Troops: Khorne Berzerkers X 8, Chainsword/Chainaxe – 136pts
FA: Heldrake, Baleflamer – 185pts
FA: Heldrake, Baleflamer – 185pts
Dedicated Transport: Chaos Rhino, Combi-Bolter X 2 – 74pts
Dedicated Transport: Chaos Rhino, Combi-Bolter X 2 – 74pts
Dedicated Transport: Chaos Rhino, Combi-Bolter X 2 – 74pts

Super Heavy Detachment – Renegade Knights
LoW: Renegade Knight, Battlecannon X 2, Heavy Stubber X 3 – 497pts
LoW: Renegade Armiger, Two Armiger Autocannons X 2 – 174pts
LoW: Renegade Armiger, Two Armiger Autocannons X 2 – 174pts

As you can see this is just a basic Rush list with Rhinos holding some crazy murderers, the Heldrakes are suicide guys who go out, maybe kill something and take some attention.  The Big Knight with the double BC is there because the range is a lot better on them.  It might be better to run double Avenger Cannons and then that would mean I could throw a missile on top if needed.  Its one of those things I can test as I play this more.  The best thing the list is a majority Chaos Space Marine army that doesn’t try to warp time something into your face.  It also doesn’t really need to use a ton of CP for most thing as it tries to play the game with the rules as is.

There you have it – two lists I actually play instead of just theorizing and math hammerizing.  This whole waiting on Chapter Approved has really got me stumped on my Chaos thoughts.  I know the Ork lists should still be good no matter what happens but will have to see.

~Here is hoping your Black Friday purchases kick a ton of butt and you win all your games with rollin dem 6’s.
