Geekery: The Millennium Falcon Has Touched Down at Disneyland

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts announced at D23 2015 that they’re adding 14 acres of Star Wars themed lands at Disneyland Park in Anaheim and the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The new sections of both parks are currently under construction, and the famous ship has landed at Disneyland.

The full size rendition of the hunk of junk has been completed and is awaiting fans at the Anaheim park – the new attraction allows folks to visit the planet Batuu. Disneyland shared a photo of the exterior of the ship on their Facebook page

Disney has also shared a preview of the motion-simulator experience that’s being housed inside of it. In Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run fans can take control of the Falcon in three different crew spots and fly exciting missions across the galaxy with the help of Hondo Ohnaka.

I’m sure we’ll be getting more peeks at the park as construction continues. As a reminder of what we all have to look forward to, here’s the scale miniature of the park revealed at last year’s D23. The Falcon is next to the watch tower and rock spires in the center-right.
