We start the show with the premise that the Matched Play Format is the natural conclusion to any 40k player’s journey.  It is a way for players to instantly communicate their expectations for a pickup games and not just for tournaments.  What do you think?

Hey all,

We kick off the show with a new player segment encouraging the embrace of Matched Play Rules as soon as you can.  The reason is that ‘Matched Play’ rules don’t just give us a solid tournament ruleset, they also smooth out some of the edges of the game.  They define and structure our expectations for the fun we can get out of our playtime.

In the middle part of the show we talk about our various tournament rituals leading up to the days before a tournament. We’re specifically referring to the Las Vegas Open but these methods apply to any tournament with any number of rounds.

This is a huge topic and during it we touch on something we’ve covered before about ritualizing your pre-game and early game rounds.  We also insert the idea about always planning to go second.  With the introduction of Prepared Positions is this what we should all be doing at this point?

We close out the show talking about Mud….  Let’s get dirty.

FTN mostly focuses on Warhammer 40k, but again you will see in the first few episodes we take a severe deep dive into nerdom. These have been a blast to record and I hope they help pass the time for you.
