The Tectonic Fragdrill isn’t just a new Genestealer Cult terrain model that provides you with buffs on the go–it also fits in with Sector Mechanicus terrain. Come take a look.

That’s right folks, we’ve got a look at the assemblage of the Tectonic Fragdrill for you–this drill on rails uses some existing terrain to create a new terrain piece that fits right into the framework of Sector Mechanicus terrain in some pretty ingenious ways. Come take a look at how it all comes together.

The original concept for the Fragdrill was inspired by a drawing Dave Andrews did when we were designing the Sector Mechanicus scenery range. However, given the mining aesthetics of the Genestealer Cults, we decided that a huge industrial drill would work better as a bespoke terrain piece for the faction rather than as a universal kit.

As you can see, it rests on rails, and comes with hooks to help it fit right into the rest of GW’s terrain.

By having it slot onto the side of the walkways in the same way as the railings, it not only avoids that issue but, provided you don’t glue the fragdrill to another scenery piece, it allows you to move it to different locations in between games.

But beyond that, you can also position the drill in different places on the rails. You can lower or raise it as you see fit.

And you can also fit it together with the Galvanic Servohauler, if you want to tow your Fragdrill around the table:

We’ll have to wait and see what exactly it does–but given that GW has said it can cause localized Earthquakes, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some earthquake-like abilities attached to this. Either way, it’s a cool piece of scenery that works, Genestealer Cults or not, in battlefields throughout the galaxy.
