The new Rumor Engine is up from Games Workshop. Internet Detective Agency, ASSEMBLE!

Games Workshop’s latest Rumor Engine is here and we’ve got what appears to be a gem encrusted horn. Or do we…

There’s some exciting new stuff on the way – can you guess what this sneak peek could be?

I’m still sticking to my previous assessment – this is a musical horn of some type. Probably used by a unit in AoS. Now the question is what unit would use something like this?

The Fyreslayers are fans of Horns, but this one looks less metallic. I’m also getting more of an Aelf-ish vibe.

The round-gems are also a thematic element of the Aelves, too. Perhaps this is a teaser for a new batch of Aleves heading our way soon. We are still waiting on the rumored “Light” Aelves to show up. After the events described in Daughters of Khaine and the Idoneth Deepkin, it seems like that’s a likely area GW could go with the AoS range next.

Then again, lots of other armies use hornblowers in their units. These Skeleton Warriors, for example, also have a horn for their musician. I’ve always wondered how that worked without lungs to “blow” – but hey, magic!

Even Khorne has a brass section! Bloodletters use a horn for their musicians. As do Skull Crushers:

So Internet, I leave this one to you. Who’s getting a new hornblower in their army and for what unit? Let us know your best guesses in the comments!
