Games Workshop has a new battlebox coming for Age of Sigmar and they are showing off the contents – take a closer look!
Looncurse: Battle by the Light of the Bad Moon is coming in the next few weeks and GW is showcasing the fantastic models in the box. It’s going to pit the forces of the Gloomspite Gitz against the Sylvaneth in a self-contained battlebox. Not only will this function as a great way to get into either army for newer players, it’s also going to have some brand new characters added to the mix as well.
Looncurse is absolutely packed with sprues – it’s like two Start Collecting! sets rolled into one! Inside, you’ll find the following units:
– 3 Kurnoth Hunters
– 10 Cave Squigs and 2 Squig Herders
– 5 Boingrot Bounderz
– 5 Squig Hoppers
All of those units are currently available from Games Workshop – so no surprises there. However, there are two new heroes to check out and they booth look pretty impressive:
The Arch-Revenant is a pretty cool looking sculpt. While it uses a lot of the same styles and themes from the Sylvaneth Tree-Revenants, the additions of the helm, buckler, and wings create a distinct look. I can’t wait to see this one on the tabletop.
Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig
The Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig is another one of those great gobliny models that GW makes. The squig looks equal parts hungry, hilarious, and horrifying. The Loonboss certainly looks like he means business with as it’s got the look of the new Gloomspite Gitz. And the little extras on the base are fitting, too.
The Campaign for Ayadah
A 40-page supplement comes with the boxed set. Looncurse is set in the realm of metal, in a once-verdant area that the Sylvaneth controlled. Recently, their sacred glades have been overrun with the Gloomspite Gitz and the fungal hordes are upon them.
Naturally, the Looncurse will have Narrative battles for the forces in the box. If you would like to bring these models to larger battles that will be an option thanks to the addition of the Warscrells and Pitched Battle Profiles also included.
And what set would be complete without tokens to help keep track of in-game effects and abilities.
The Bad Moon is high in the sky – how will you deal with the Looncurse!?
