Games Workshop’s latest Rumor Engine is out and this one has some hints at what Two-Marrow may bring.

There’s no using hiding it – there is definitely a new miniature on the way! But the question becomes for which faction?

The Rumour Engine returns with a glimpse of the future, but what could it be?

I’ve got a few theories on this one. Clearly we’re dealing with some type of skeletal structure. My first thought goes to Nagash. The segements remind me of a pair of spines that end in a point – or at least strange “Whippy” doodads on a model.

Here’s a slightly better look at his bone wrack:

Again, the similar spine segments are pretty telling. However, I don’t think we’re looking at a new version of Nagash – that model is fantastic! I think we might be looking at something that either follows the Lord of Death or is from Shyish.

However, this tease could also be from the Grimdark. The exposed bone-like segments could be exo-skeletal. And if that’s the case, they are very reminiscent of another model of xenos origin:

The barbed sections on the end of the Toxicrene’s whip-like tentacles are very similar. Could this be a new Tyranid model in the works?

There are lots of different armies and factions that use bones in other forms as well. For instance if these bits are more decorative than functional they could easily be for a chaos model, too.

“What? I like bones…”

And that could go for AoS as easily as 40k.

So, Internet Detectives, I leave this one up to you! Let us know your theories in the comments.

What do you think? New Skeletal Hordes? New Xenos monstrosity? New Chaos Champ? Or something very different?
