The Adeptus Mechanicus have no shortage of apocalyptic assets in their arsenal–including a brand new hovertank, brimming with firepower.

More and more of the Apocalypse rules are swimming into focus, and the augmented armies of the Adeptus Mechanicus might be only technically human, but they’re some of the finest troops the Imperium has to offer. Their faction is durable and capable of putting out withering amounts of firepower from deadly, high tech weapons. Let’s take a look!

In Apocalypse, an Adeptus Mechanicus army is a glorious thing to behold, the scale of the game allowing you to bring the devotees of the Machine Cult to the tabletop in all their many-splendoured glory. Your army will consist of serried ranks of Skitarii alongside crawling, hovering and stomping war machines, and stranger units still.

In practical terms, there’s a few things that remain true. The Ad-Mech are resilient–more so than Guard at least. Blessings of the Omnissiah has you covered there.

Rerolling 1s means more of your awesome units will stay in the fight longer. So units like your Kastelan Robots can lay down the hurt with their reworked Battle Protocols.

Note they change based on what order you give them. Some things never change though, like the Fulgurite Electropriests leeching the life force out of their foes with their staves. Here’s a look at the voltaic power that they bring to the Apocalyptic tabletop, boasting decent power against both personnel and lighter vehicles.

But the real star of the show is the new Skorpius Disintegrator, assembled from the same kit as the Dunerider transport. This one boasts some powerful weaponry though–here’s a look.

It’s fast, it’s arriving just in time for Apocalypse and it’s got some truly excellent firepower – chances are, you need a Skorpius Disintegrator in your life. This battle tank is the kit-sibling of the Skorpius Dunerider, trading out transport capacity for a disruptor missile launcher and your choice of Belleros energy cannon or ferrumite cannon.

The Belleros Energy Cannon’s Barrage rule means it can shoot without needing line of sight, so you can post a few of those up somewhere and get yourself a mobile firebase that can’t be touched if you can find a good wall or other piece of obscuring terrain.

Aside from that, there’s an array of various Command Assets to choose from, like Beneditction of the Omnissiah:

Or perhaps the Chant of the Remorseless Fist, which allows you to roll d12s instead of d6s if you’re fighting in melee combat. All of this comes out for pre-order next weekend, so be on the lookout for a swanky new Skorpius.

But in the meantime–what do you think of the new tank?
