The next expansion for Arkham Horror: The Card Game has been announced. Meet The Dream-Eaters!

H.P. Lovecraft wrote many stories that involved the Dreamlands – From The Cats of Ulthar, to the Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, and even At the Mountains of Madness has references to the Dreamlands. Now, FFG has announced an expansion that will allow the Investigators to travel to this wondrous and mysterious place. The dangers might be in your dreams, but that doesn’t make them any less deadly – get ready to face The Dream-Eaters!

There is a hidden realm beyond the world of the waking, a realm of wonder, imagination, and nightmares. After occult author Virgil Gray writes about his adventures in a place he refers to as the “Dreamlands,” you decide to learn the truth for yourself. But the deeper you fall into your investigation, the more you find yourself questioning: what is real and what is fiction? And what secrets await in the dark, forbidden places beyond the gates of sleep?

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the upcoming release of The Dream-Eaters, a new deluxe expansion for Arkham Horror: The Card Game—now available for pre-order at your local retailer or online through our website!

With this new deluxe expansion, FFG is changing how players will interact with the campaign once again. This time, there are a few different ways to tackle this adventure. Investigators can choose to enter The Dreamlands and play out that campaign arc or they can play as their companions who have stayed behind in the waking world and experience a different campaign arc. Alternatively, you can also play with this expansion and the 6 mythos packs to form a cohesive eight-part campaign!

To aid you in your new investigation, we are getting 56 new players cards included in this expansion as well as a handful of new investigators – starting with Luke Robinson, The Dreamer.

Luke Robinson, The Dreamer

Luke is known as The Dreamer because he spends his sleeping hours wandering the Dreamlands. He was gifted a mysterious box by his uncle and it allows him passage into and out of this realm. Who better to lead the charge into the Dreamlands than the most experienced guide?

The Gate Box is a powerful relic that allows Luke to disengage from each enemy engaged with you and enter the Dream-Gate location. It’s a space that is essentially a safe zone for Luke. It’s bonded to him and doesn’t come into play until he summons it forth. It’s also got another property of being connected to each revealed location – but only Luke can use…

But be warned – Luke’s custom weakness preys upon his experiences in the Dreamland. Wander to much and you tend to become lost – after-all, why face the horrors of reality when you can simply live in a dream? But it’s the Dream that you need to forget and not the Reality if you want to survive.

A shroud 6 location that only Luke will be able to investigate is quite the challenge…hopefully he’ll have some more tools as a mystic to succeed or escape the Dream-Gate.

The Dream-Eaters

There is a hidden realm outside the world of the waking: a realm of wonder, imagination, and nightmares. After occult author Virgil Gray writes about his adventures in these “Dreamlands,” you decide to set forth and learn the truth for yourself. What is real, and what is fiction? And what secrets await in the dark, forbidden places beyond the gates of sleep?

The Dream-Eaters is the fifth deluxe expansion for Arkham Horror: The Card Game. In this expansion, 1–4 players take on the roles of either a group of investigators venturing into the Dreamlands or their companions who have been left in the waking world. This expansion contains the first two scenarios of The Dream-Eaters cycle; one scenario for each of these two groups. This expansion also contains new investigator and player cards that increase the customization options for the game.

Sweet Dreams? Not likely…
