A first look at Bond in Jamaica has been released – it looks like the franchise is getting back on its very stylish feet.

The production of this movie had a lurching start with director Danny Boyle dropping out because he didn’t want to be pigeon holed into a franchise, star Daniel Craig requiring surgery after an injury on set, and an uncontrolled explosion damaged part of Pinewood studios during filming. Things are looking up, however, with Cary Joji Fukunaga in the director’s chair.

Filming is moving forward. Stars Naomie Harris and Rami Malek have expressed confidence in the production, and Craig is back at the gym despite having to wear a boot.

There’s been sightings of shoots in Norway with Timothy Dalton’s Vantage V8 seen in The Living Daylights. Prince Charles visited the Pinewood set last week. Yesterday the team released a short promo reel yesterday to further demonstrate that things are moving forward…

I’m optimistic – the footage looks like it fits the look and feel of the franchise perfectly. Interesting that they’re bringing in another classic Bond car besides Connery’s signature DB5. There are rumors that the new Aston Martin Valhalla (aka the AM-RB 003) that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show will make an appearance in the movie.

Rami Malek is taking his first turn as a Bond villain, which I’m totally down for. We’ll be seeing some familiar faces – Jeffrey Wright returns as US agent Felix Leiter, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, and Ben Whishaw as Q.

Bond 25 is set to be released in the UK on April 3rd 2020 and April 8th 2020 worldwide.
