The Op’s ‘Dungeon Academy’ Rolls In With Brand New Dungeons Every Time

Generate brand new dungeons filled with monsters, potions, doors and boss monsters each and every time you play!

Dungeon Academy is a competitive dice rolling, ‘roll-and-write’ game with resource management mechanics. The goal of each player is to score the most points after a set number of rounds. Points are scored by killing monsters, completing quests and through some items and abilities.

Each game of Dungeon Academy consists of 4 levels the players must delve in order to reach the highest levels of Glory! With each level the players take the dungeon dice to randomly generate a brand new dungeon. Each of the die symbol signify a monster or potion that the players can encounter in the dungeon. Later levels replace the basic dice with a Labyrinth die and a Boss die, which add new elements to the dungeon.

The dice are rolled into dungeon to form a 4×4 grid of dice which will players will navigate on their player pad.

Each player has health and mana. Red monsters reduce health and blue monsters reduce mana, small monsters reduce 1 and big monsters reduce 2. While potions restore the corresponding stat by 1.

Once the dungeon is revealed, players have a limited amount of time to trace out their path to maximize glory through killing monsters and completing quests. After the 4th level of the dungeon is completed, whichever player has the most points wins the game!

Final Thoughts

I was fortunate enough to be sent a copy of Dungeon Academy to play a few times to give an honest review.

So I can say with certainty that I really like it. I love games that are quick to learn and offer a good amount of thinking during gameplay. Even playing solo provides a solid amount of puzzling through the dungeon in trying to determine the best route. But all the while keeping your health and mana at reasonable levels so you don’t get yourself trapped or killed.

Overall, I really enjoy Dungeon Academy. It’s accessible for younger players, but will provide a good time for anyone.
