Wondering what would be in the supplemental Codex for the Ultramarines that won’t be in the main book? Come take a peek!

Games Workshop is showing off the Ultramarines in the latest preview and they are looking pretty spicy! The Scions of Guilliman are the Poster-sons of Guilliman (and Warhammer 40,000) for a reason!

For starters – I’m hoping you’ve seen their Chapter Tactic. That’s in the main book but that also applies to the Chapter as a whole:

And just in case you were wondering or missed this note in the preview article, it works on more than just Infantry, Bikes, and Dreads now:

“However, a crucial change to all Chapter Tactics in the codex is that they now apply not merely to Infantry, Bikers and Dreadnoughts, but to ALL UNITS in a Space Marines Detachment!”

Except Servitors.

Anyhow, that’s not the ONLY ability the Ultramarine are getting. They are also gaining access to another spicy meatball of an ability:

And yes, it stacks with Bolter Drill and the new Tactical Doctrine (duh) – which means you’re Primaris Intercessors with Bolt Rifles are going to stupid scary with all those shots and -2 AP.

In additi0n to that:

“Codex Supplement: Ultramarines includes a set of six Warlord Traits that exemplify the strategic brilliance of the Chapter’s officers. Master of Strategy, for example, enables an accompanying unit to take advantage of the Tactical Doctrine (which, as we’ve seen above, is even better for purging bad guys).”

How will the Master of Strategy work in conjunction with Tactical Doctrine, we’re not 100% clear as it seems like it’s already going to apply. But we don’t know the full rules impact yet. However, based on the things we’ve seen so far, it’s probably going to be even better!

Psykers of the Ultramarines are also getting their own set of Psychic Powers – 7 in total – that have been talked about but not seen…until now. Say hello to the first reveal of the new Indomitus discipline:

It’s not just 6 new Warlord Traits or 7 new Psychic Powers either – there are also more Relics for the Ultramarine Chapters. GW teased a new one from their armory:

Looking for something with a more offensive punch? Check out this fanct pistol available from the armory:

Still want more stuff? How about 16 Ultramarine Specific Stratagems to use in addition to the ones already in Codex: Space Marines?! I think that brings the grand total for Space Marines up to 40,000 stratagems to choose at this point. Here’s a look at one of the new ones:

Still want MOAR? How about the return of Tyrannic War vets – you know, for old times sake:

Yeah. Good times.

The Ultramarines are also back with a new “Prime-Time Tiggy” and his stats are suitably upgraded as well:

He’s still rocking his Hellfire Hood as well which provides him with some extra mean tricks when manifesting or denying psychic powers:

And finally, if that wasn’t enough already, Prime-Time Tiggy also has ANOTHER nice little pick-me-up for friendly units:

That’s not even a power – that just happens!

The Ultramarines are looking Big, Bad, and Blue – get ready for them to lead the way with the new Codex: Space Marines and their own Codex Supplement coming soon!

Man, if the Ultramarines are getting this juiced-up, what about the OTHER Marines?
