Psychic Awakening is talking all about Eldar, but the rumorsphere says to keep an eye on the greenskins.

You can feel the electricity in the air. We are marching through the multi-month Space Marines release and already everyone is getting tingly with Craftworld Eldar talk to kick off Psychic Awakening. They are apparently one of the stars of the first volume – Phoenix Rising.

We already know Banshees are coming and there’s talk that more Aspects and others are coming with them.

The Rumors

But industry professionals say to keep an eye out for activity on the Ork front not too far in the future. Here’s the latest:

  • New Ork plastic kits are on the way.
  • Look for some finecast Characters to get moved over to plastic.
  • At least one of the last finecast units is coming to plastic as well.

Thoughts

I would assume that this Orky splash release will get worked into Psychic Awakening. The Orks like the Eldar are a very psychic race and from their codex lore, we already have Ghaz teleporting all over the galaxy starting his master WAAAGH!

The Ork range is actually in really solid shape and their codex is about a year old, so way too soon for a new one. The usual suspects on the mini front are:

  • Tankbustas
  • Kommandos
  • Deffkoptas (Please just release the plastic Black Reach ones)
  • Zagstruk
  • Snikrot
  • Mad Doc Grotsnik
  • Kaptin Badrukk
  • Ghaz

This is sounding like the rarer “orphan” release of units not alongside a codex, usually 2-4 at a time. We’ve seen this with things like Shadowspear and during some of the older campaign books. I’d keep this rumor under your hat and look for Orks in a followup volume to Phoenix Rising.

~I’ll let you all figure out which kits GW most needs to update to plastic.
