Come take a look at the mysterious new satyrs and centaurs that form the brutal protectors of nature that are Skaeth’s Wild Hunt.

The newest Warhammer Underworlds warband is here to fight in stalwart defense against the curse of the Katophranes, using all their might to protect the beautiful and sublime wilderness all around them. But who are these mysterious creatures? A new Sylvaneth subfaction? Likely–or at least related to them in the same way that the Sylvaneth are the tree spirits etc. of the old wood elves, and now here come the satyrs and centaurs. Well, deertaurs at any rate.

Today we’re looking at their rules to find out more about how this warband works, and see what else we can glean about their mysterious identities.

Spiritual avatars of nature in its most primal and aggressive state, Skaeth’s Wild Hunt are savage – yet noble – worshippers of Kurnoth, god of the hunt. Preying on those who would despoil nature, now they work tirelessly to slay those infected with the Katophrane curse to prevent the corruption from spreading further.

They combine mobility, ranged attacks, and some devastating assault abilities to strike fast and hit hard. Their leader, Skaeth is a beast, especially when inspired:

His hooves gain the new scything keyword, meaning they hit all adjacent enemy targets in melee. You can’t beat value like that!

Karthaen is all about blowing that horn and giving someone like Skaeth a reroll, which is about what you expect in a supporting fighter.

Sheoch is dodgy and great at hitting hard targets, especially after the charge.

And her counterpart, Althaen is great at picking off foes at range, though does much lighter damage.

Then there’s the Malkyn, aka AoS lion, Lighaen, whose name even sounds like lion–and who will be batting cleanup on the team.

All in all there are some pretty good tricks in this warband’s kit. And they represent a heretofore unseen faction. We’re looking forward to seeing more from these once the season gets underway.

Good luck,  generals
