This new psychological horror/thriller from the producers of Mandy has plenty of twists and turns, and acid soaked visuals. It will have you questioning what’s real and what’s not.

Troubled college freshman Luke suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel to help him cope. Charismatic and full of manic energy, Daniel helps Luke to achieve his dreams, before pushing him to the very edge of sanity and into a desperate struggle for control of his mind — and his soul.

The movie has garnered some good reviews from the  festival circuit – critics calling it visually stunning with a well written, compelling story that has some surprises for audiences. I’m a sucker for twisted psychological horror, so I’ll be giving it shot when it shows up on Shudder.

Daniel Isn’t Real is from up and coming director Adam Egypt Mortimer with a story based on In This Way I Was Saved by Brian DeLeeuw; and some clout from several producers that worked on Mandy, including Elijah Wood. Cast is lead by Patrick Schwarzenegger (Arnold’s kid) and Miles Robbins, with Sasha Lane and Chuk Iwuji.

Daniel Isn’t Real arrives in select theaters and digital December 6th.
