The Black Templars are poised to bring their considerable Faith and Fury to the Emperor’s enemies. Take a look at their relics and special litanies.

It is a rulestravaganza here at the Bell of Lost Souls, and right now we’re taking a look at what’s new in the Faith and Fury campaign book, which brings corruption and chaos into conflict with faith and bolters. The Black Templars have many weapons at their disposal, among them surprise, fear, a ruthless efficiency, and an almost fanatical devotion to the Emperor. And it’s this last one that grants them strange powers that bend reality itself.

As you can see, there’s a Codex Supplement’s worth of rules in here, including new traits and relics, and in lieu of the Litanies of Battle, the Black Templars call upon their devotion to accomplish great and terrible wonders through the Litanies of the Devout:

These Litanies give you a powerful suite of bonuses to dole out. The Oath of Glory is one of the stand out ones, as is Fervent Acclamation or Fires of Devotion, if you’re looking to build something that’s powerful in the assault. The others are a little more general, but all seem to be fairly useful. So watch out, enemies of the Emperor. These Black Templars are coming for you.

Speaking of–other metaphorical weapons in their metaphorical arsenal include literal weapons in their literal arsenal. And armor and a skull as well, which is just one part of the relics of the crusade, treasures taken from among their sacred battles:

The Sword of Judgement gives you some heavy hitting damage, but the Crusader’s Helm feels like it plays into the “assault everyone all the time forever” theme that seems to be running alongside the rest of the army. What more do they have? Pre-order this weekend and find out on November 29th, when the Black Templars (and the rest of Faith and Fury) arrives in stores.
