Join us as we take a tour of the new Disciples of Tzeentch Battletome and the new Tzeentch Endless Spells!

The Disciples of Tzeentch are getting some much needed love with this new Battletome – and those Endless Spells are no joke either. Changes are a’comin.

A Case of the Blues

Turn that frown upside down all you Tzeentch players out there because this book has got some serious casting chops. If you were hoping for change with you new battletome – you got it! But before we dig into a bunch of the important stuff, let’s talk birds-eye view first. In the book you’ll find:

  • Allegiance abilities
  • Sub-faction rules
  • Destiny Dice system
  • Change Covens
  • Updated Summoning Rules
  • Hidden Agendas
  • & More!

The Covens of Tzeentch

Let’s talk sub-factions for a moment. In the Disciples of Tzeentch, they are getting 6 Covens with their own set of extra rules. Each of these Covens has their own specialities and strengths. For example, if you wanted to quickly get another Lord of Change out on the tabletop, The Guild of Summoners is for you. The can only summon Lords of Change but they get a massive discount on the first two summons.

Each Coven also gets access to their own Command Abilities, Command Traits, Artefact of Power, and of course, their own unique ability. If you are going to use a sub-faction you do have to use those abilities, but the restrictions are worth the price of admission.

The army has received lots of little tweaks here and there as well. One example is that the Tzaangor Shaman on the Disc of Tzeentch doesn’t have the Daemon keyword anymore. That is a subtle change that has some other implications down the road. One positive change for the DoT is that their Kairic Acolytes do have a really neat niche that has been carved out for them. While there are 9 or more models they count as a wizard unit that can cast 1 spell – Gestalt Sorcery. It boosts their Sorcerous Bolt’s rend but the best part is that every unit of Kairic Acolytes can cast this spell regardless if it’s already been cast in your hero phase. That’s really going to help you wrack up the fate points for summons.

As far as updates go, this one is a pretty solid one for the DoT. There is already a magical buzz in the air for them and we’ll have to see how the players react when this one hits the streets. Pre-orders are available now and the book will be in stores this weekend from Games Workshop.

Battletome: Disciples of Tzeentch $40

Even the lowliest of their number has magical talent – to face them in battle is to face a barrage of lethal spells, fatal transmutations and raw Chaos.

Embrace madness and unleash the myriad cults of the Architect of Fate in Battletome: Disciples of Tzeentch!
