This week, Firelock Games posted some cool pictures of their upcoming game Oak & Iron. In this post, we take a look at the ships and components that come in the starter box.

Checking out the Box

Generally, I like opening up boxes and taking pictures of the contents. That said, Firelock Games has already done that work for us. Now, let’s take a look at some of the contents of the starter box.

Before opening the box, here is the back. Lots of cool things in here. Not everything in the box is pictured there.

Some of the stickers and the gaming mat.

A closer look at the gaming mat. Some nice artwork there.

A preview image of the rule book.

Now we are getting to the good stuff. Plastic and cards, that’s what I like to see. 🙂

The Galleon Ship. That is how the ships come. No painting involved unless you want to make them look nicer.

A sneak preview of some more of the ships.

Clamshells?

While on Kickstarter, expansions to the game were sold as boxed sets. In these preview images, I see something interesting. Clamshells. It makes me wonder if Firelock Games will be selling the ships individually too.

Okay, going back to the Firelock Games Pre-Order Page for Oak & Iron I see that they are selling the 3rd Rate Ship for $15 each. Looks like this is how they will come. Nice packaging. You can also see the boxed sets I was talking about on that page too.

Wrapping it up…

Hopefully, you enjoyed this quick Oak & Iron preview. For more preview images, check out Firelock Games’ Facebook Page.
