Judge Dredd Helter Skelter – The Slaine Family is Ready to Take Your Head Off

4 Minute Read
Feb 14 2020

In this post, we take a quick look at the miniatures in Judge Dredd: Helter Skelter the board game by Osprey Games. Specifically, we take a quick look at the miniatures from the Slaine Family.

For those that don’t know Judge Dredd: Helter Skelter focuses on the Judge Dredd Universe in a time where the timeline gets all messed up. Now, different factions do their best to collect “Shards of Reality” to restore the timeline (or use the timeline to their advantage). The Slaine family does not look to me like it belongs in the Judge Dredd universe, but I do not know the comics that well.

The miniatures in this board game come pre-washed and look just like below right out the box. This is without having to do any work or painting to the models.

A picture of the entire Slaine family together.

The Family Members…

Slaine. The Melee Monster.

His equally fierce wife – Niamh.

Their son Kai. Kai is not nearly as good at melee combat as his Mom or Dad. That said, he knows spells and can shoot people with magic energy, cause explosions in spaces adjacent to him, and heal the people on his team.

The family’s servant Ukko. He is very sneaky.

A Sudden Transformation

When Slaine’s kills reach his remaining health-points, he turns into Warp Slaine. Warp Slain is even more powerful when he hits an enemy, but he also loses the ability to block incoming attacks.

Slaine and Warp Slaine side-by-side. When Slaine’s kills equals his remaining hit-points, he turns into this brute of a monster.

Wrapping it up…

Hopefully you enjoyed this quick post. The goal of it was to show what the miniatures in Osprey Games’ Judge Dredd: Helter Skelter look like right out of the box. Something cool that I noticed while writing this piece is that Osprey Has an expansion coming up for this game in the months ahead. Be sure to keep your eyes open for Judge Dredd: Helter Skelter: The Dark Judges.
