Watch It Made: Robot Pulled Rickshaw
The Tested team has been given a Spot robot by Boston Dynamics to test over the next year. So far they’ve done some routine testing and one not so routine test – having the robot pull a Victorian style rickshaw.
When Boston Dynamics approached the Tested team about exploring Spot’s abilities they immediately came up challenges for the bot’s standard programming. When it came to giving Spot new things to do, Adam Savage automatically thought ‘let’s hook the robot up to a rickshaw’ because he’s Adam Savage. The rickshaw and the robot came together with some help from Boston Dynamics engineer Seth Davis, and fellow maker Zach Radding. The Tested team will have Spot for a year – so keep an eye on their channel to see what other wild ideas they can come up with.
