Games Workshop stores will not be opening on April 14th due to the COVID-19 situation.

A few weeks ago, Games Workshop announced they would be closing their shops due to the pandemic and were hopeful they would be able to reopen on April 14th. Unfortunately, as the situation evolves, it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. Here’s the latest news from GW:

Wherever you are in the world right now, we hope you’re all well and staying safe.

Last month we let you know that, owing to the COVID-19 situation, Games Workshop sites around the world would be closed until at least April 14th. Since then, Games Workshop has been closely monitoring the situation and continuing to follow advice from the authorities here in the UK and overseas. Games Workshop remains committed to only opening when it’s safe to do so and in line with the government’s full guidelines. Regrettably, this means Games Workshop sites won’t be re-opening on April 14th and will remain closed until further notice.

While this isn’t the news any of us wanted to hear, the health and safety of all of you, and all of Games Workshop’s staff, remains the number one priority.

Rest assured, however, good news is right around the corner. There’s a dedicated team working their socks off to make sure Games Workshop can reopen as soon as possible – so you can get that pot of Nuln Oil you’re desperate for.

For now though, for all of us, the mission remains the same – bunker down, and stay safe!

While this is certainly a bummer announcement it’s also 100% understandable. With the social distancing guidelines and other recommendations still in place it’s the right move. Many FLGS and Comic Book stores are also closed (understandably) during this time. It’s impacting everyone and we’re all in this together – from the fans, to the stores we shop and play at, to the distributors, and manufacturers.

If you’d like to help out your FLGS check with them and see if they are able to sell you gift cards or vouchers. And if they aren’t maybe send them this link: Planet Money – How Buying A Gift Card Can Help Keep A Small Business AfloatGames Workshop is also offering virtual vouchers, too.

Stay Safe and Wash Your Hands!
