Total War developers Creative Assembly have announced “Something is on the Horizon” displaying a picture that has Greenskin fans ready to Waaagh!!!

Exactly what it says on the tin, folks. Creative Assembly, which has been curiously quiet these past few days after updating their SteamDB settings, has put out a teaser that says “Something’s on the horizon.”

Something’s on the horizon… from totalwar

Here’s a closer look at the image, which is an animated gif of a barren landscape with dust blowing across it, and what appears to be a ruined Rogue Idol of Gork and or Mork laying right there in the foreground.

For comparison’s sake, here’s what a Rogue Idol looks like in terms of model…

And here’s a more artistic representation of the idea:

Now this is admittedly jumping a little ahead of the game, as there’s no official news yet. But this comes directly from Creative Assembly, who have made it known that a Greenskin update is coming. There are other potential models that this could represent, but whatever’s on the horizon, it seems to be big, green, and mean… oh but wait, hang on. Let’s go back to the video embedded in the post. Around seven seconds in, something starts scampering across the horizon.

It’s moving quickly, though not against the wind, so it’s not crebain from Dunland. What could it be?

Unless Creative Assembly is going for the biggest possible troll, and what’s on the horizon is a bunch of Empire factions, marching through the dust across the ruins of a once-great Ork empire, it seems like something big, mean, and green is in the works.

At any rate, we’ll be keeping an eye out for what the official update is. Check back later this week to see what lies in wait for canny generals eager to conquer the World-That-Was. In the meantime, marshal your forces, summon the elector-counts, and get ready for Waaagh!!!

Good luck, generals
