D&D: Critical Role Returns This Thursday

2 Minute Read
Jun 27 2020

After months on hiatus to protect their staff, Critical Role has announced they’ll be returning to Thursdays, starting July 2nd…

That’s right folks, it’s Thursday again–or at least it will be come July 2nd, when Critical Role returns to their studio having gone dark since March 17th:

Like many of you, we have been monitoring the progressing situation around COVID-19 and have made the difficult decision to temporarily stop all live broadcasts, effective Tuesday, March 17th, 2020. Please note that our next episode of All Work No Play will air live on Twitch today at 4pm Pacific and the finale will air on Tuesday, March 31st at 7pm Pacific.

The health, safety, and well-being of our company and employees is the highest priority for us and we asked our staff to begin working from home to practice social distancing last week.

That all changes this next week after an update released earlier this week:

Fans of the show will be able to tune in for Campaign 2’s 100th episode in a few short days. In the meantime, have a look at the studio’s new setup, which still gathers everyone together in the same room, but at their own table, with their own camera/mic setup.

Even with the team back, things are still different, reflecting their social distancing. Folks have wondered why they haven’t just been using Zoom or some other streaming setup–this seems to split the difference. They’ll be apart together. Now, with cases of COVID-19 on the rise in the US, it’s anyone’s guess as to how long this lasts, but hopefully testing, quarantine procedures, and folks keeping themselves will help us all stay safe — and socially distant — without having to go on a full lockdown as many other countries have.

In the meantime, get ready to roll again, because they’re back. What a 100th episode.
