Goatboy’s Hobby: I Can’t Stop Creepy Chaos Conversions

I have a chaos conversion problem. Or am I chaotically random?  Or just pure chaos incarnate?

Today’s batch of random nonsense is a few Daemon engines, Counts as Evil Dark Angels (or is it just normal Dark Angels), and a Forgeworld Tank.  Cool stuff – maybe?

Several of these beasties weren’t initially Chaos but were part of my last counts as army I played extensively – good ole 7th edition dual death star no psyker Space Wolves/Dark Angels hot mess. The list  won me a lot of games.  But not a lot of hearts.  Nor did it win my own heart.  Oh well – the good ole days of combos, look out sirs, and speedy death bombs.

The “Hell-Finches”

Both of these Heldrakes have been Turkeys and Hellblades from time to time.  I saw this conversion online in the beginning of this models use and thought that doing it this way would make things so much easier to transport back in the day.  These two were part of an evil Necron/Chaos army back in 6th that just ended games in brutal screams of jet engines, flying over units and then flaming out of the butt to kill a ton of models.  I will probably make a 3rd one day when I find the random parts I set aside for another conversion.  It was before a move so I think it is in a box in the garage somewhere.

A Pair of Renegades

The last counts as Model I have built – a random Evil Dark Shroud holding a portal of Chaos on the Back.  The rest of the army was evil Chaos riders running around with Space Goat friends.  Super evil friends to the end.

This is my favorite Forgeworld Tank.  I just love the treads and found this tank to be a lot of fun.  Its almost good enough to use in regular 40k.  Maybe the updated rules will make it work better or gasp – Legion based abilities.

Mind the Tongue

This is the model AdamHarry yelled at me about and knew I was going to make a Chaos Space Marine thing out of.  This one has a Baleflamer and riding a gross vomit beast thingie.  I have used him a few times and always enjoy figuring out ways to use the Maggot Rider kits for bits.

Meet the REAL Spider

This was my original conversion for my 3rd Lord Discordant.  I saw that chubby tech priest and had an extra Spider Daemon Engine thingie from getting 4 sets of Chaos Shadowspear.  A few snipes, some glue, and some Greenstuff and you got a cool little Disco Lord.  The axe is from an extra Lord of Contagion from the Dark Imperium box.  I might get a few of these bigger kits to make sure I got ample amount of random bits to make armies.

Chaos Triumphant!

This is a Soul Grinder/Defiler was one of those conversions that sat bouncing around my head for a year or so when I saw the Mutalith kit.  I remember using this model one LVO and having a blast of a time with 120 Daemonettes running around it like fleas.

~More of my hobby craziness later. Which one is your favorite?
