GW Rumor Engine: It’s A Servo-Skull

The latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop is a Servo-Skull. Boom. Nailed it.

It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a new Rumor Engine. Only this time it’s not really a tease so much as a gimme. Check it out:

So it’s a Servo-skull. Case Closed!

But wait, that’s too easy. What’s going on? It’s got to be a Servo-skull, right? I mean it can’t be a red herring or a trick. It’s just a Servo-skull. Maybe the real question is who does it belong to?

We’ve seen Servo-skulls associated with lots of different factions over the years – mostly Imperial. Astra Militarum, Inquisitors, Adeptus Mechanicus, and Space Marines (pretty much all the flavors) for sure.

So, again, who does this Servo-skull belong to? Maybe it’s not an Imperial Skull. Perhaps it’s something Darker…

Game Workshop has been hinting at Dark Mechanicus cults for a while. We’ve gotten smaller nods to them here and there in the Chaos Range. The most overt Dark Mechanicus tease were the Negavolt Cultists from Blackstone Fortress:

This Servo-skull could totally be a part of something along those lines. It’s kind of sinister – but then again, it IS a skull so, that’s already pretty Grimdark.
