A set of Necron flyers and vehicles have had their impressive statlines revealed. Come take a look for yourself!

We know that the Necrons are getting a bunch of new units and a new codex in October. But in the meantime, where can you find out the unit stats? The new 9th edition Necron unit boxes have some rules alongside the assembly instructions.  These two sets of stats come from the Ghost/Doomsday Arks and the Flyer box. They are all over various forums and Facebook at this point.

The New Units

Thoughts

We are seeing the new lethality and durability here for the Necrons. Moving the Arks from 4+ to 3+ will keep them in the game longer, always a nice thing when you are supposed to be a durability faction.

But it’s the increased weapons stats of the flyers that is really interesting. First they slowed the croissants down by 10″ on the top end, probably fine with the smaller board sizes of 9th Edition. The increased range of all flyer guns to 36″ will be appreciated, and note the increase in shots and increase of fixed stats instead of swingy variable ones. Players hated the random nature of a lot of weapons in 8th and avoided them. Here GW is directly addressing the issue. The Death Ray in particular with S:12 and D3+3 damage is super potent. This is truly returning to its 1950’s War of the Worlds inspiration. It should be able to one-shot a lot more targets now.

Now your Necron attacks will be more like this!

What do you think of these Necron changes?
