Being able to swoop in and snatch an opponent’s backfield objective is going to be very useful – that’s where these mean transports come in.

Transports in Warhammer 40,000 got a bit of a bad rep last edition. But in 9th, their value has come up due to the way missions work. Staying mobile – either to snag early game objectives or to push through the enemy line and take a backfield objective by dropping off their unit inside is something folks are going to want to consider. Here’s a few Transports with the “Right Stuff” to get the job done.

Ork Battlewagon

Battlewagons are TOUGH. And they move a respectable 12″. And they have a payload of up to 20 Infantry model. And they have a lot of guns. And…well, you get the idea. Load up some Shoota Boyz, push forward, and dump out a wall of lead as you make moves towards the enemy objectives!

Necron Night Scythe

The Croissants of Doom aren’t quite as potent as they used to be – however, you shouldn’t discount them completely either. They are FAST and to actually take some dedicated fire to drop. While they can’t really take objectives themselves what makes them sneaky and effective is their Invasion Beams. Zoom these flyers past the enemy and have them zap in an Infantry unit to cause some backfield trouble!

Marine Land Raiders (Variants Included)

Space Marines are getting a buff. A bunch of their weapons are ALSO getting buffs. These changes are also expected to roll out to Chaos Marines, too. With all that said, Laid Raiders are suddenly looking like a viable option. These tanks are about as beefy as you can get for the Marines (of all flavors) and when you combine that with the improvements to Marines over-all you’ve got a mean One-Two Punch. Push up with a Land Raider and snag those objectives!

Craftworlds Wave Serpent

Here’s another vehicle that isn’t quite as nutty as it was back in its heyday but has a new lease on life in 9th. Wave Serpents are fast and surprisingly durable. They can also pump out a respectable amount of firepower. Sneaking one of these transports around to snag objectives with the units inside can totally work!

T’au Devilfish

I know everyone is gaga over T’au battlesuits and drones but have you ever witnessed what a Breacher Team can do when they pop out of a Devilfish at close range? It can be quite a surprise. Take this fish-o-fury and snag those tough to take objectives.

There are lots more transport options out there – don’t be afraid to give them a whirl in 9th as they just might surprise you!
