Wizkids has recently announced a new Icon of the Realms: Orcus, the Demon Prince of Undeath will be a new Icon of the Realm in January.

Orcus is one of the big bad villains of Dungeons & Dragons. Players have been battling against this big, bat-winged demon lord who just wants the world to be undead, since the dark days of 1st Edition. 4th Edition gave Orcus new light, as cultists of Orcus were some of the best villains in what is widely regarded as one of the best D&D Adventures out there, regardless of edition: Keep on the Shadowfell.

In 5th Edition, Orcus is still going strong, and though his skull-tipped wand might not be as devastatingly powerful as it was in older editions, this demon lord makes for an excellent showstopping encounter in any campaign. And with WizKids having announced a new legendary miniature fig of Orcus, now’s the perfect time to get ready to run with this demon prince.

Orcus is the Demon Prince of Undeath also known as the Blood Lord. He rewards adventurers who spread death in his name by giving them boons, such as ghouls and zombies to do their bidding. This first pre-painted figure in WizKids line of Demon Lords stands tall on a 100mm base, and will retail for $79.99.

Soon you’ll be able to get your hands on this massive mini, who will tower over your tabletop on his 100mm base. It really hammers home the size and scale of the villain–and of course makes for all manner of interesting tactical decisions when you get down to the nitty gritty of fighting him. In any case, Orcus is due for release in January 2021, so be on the lookout for your chance to snag him.

In the meantime, happy adventuring, and watch out for cultists!
